Two ways to create customer records

Pick the path that matches your list. Both end the same way: a customer record in PointsCard, then a wallet pass they can download.

Option 1 · Best for a full list

Export / import

Export customers from your current loyalty tool in whatever format it offers. Send the file to us and we import it for you—no need to reformat it first.

Formats we commonly see

  • POS or loyalty-app exports (Square, Toast, Clover, and similar)

    Download the list from your current program. Names, emails, and points are useful if they are there—send what you have.

    Email the file to rob@pointscard.app. We map the fields and import the records for you.

    Records are ready

    Customers show up in your list with balances carried over. They download a wallet pass when they are next in, or from a recover QR you share.

Option 2 · Best for a short list

Manual entry

Add people one at a time from the company app when they are not there to scan the join QR—or when you only have a handful of regulars to honor.

    New customer → Add manually

    Enter a name and optional contact. Set starting points (and visits if you track them).

    Record is created

    They are now a wallet customer in your list—same as someone who joined from your QR.

    Hand off the pass

    Show or share the recover QR. They add Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Next visit you scan as usual.

Then they download the wallet pass

    Import or manual entry creates the customer. Balances are already on the record.

    Join QR at the counter, or the recover QR from their profile. Apple Wallet or Google Wallet—no customer app.

    You scan from then on

    Same checkout as everyone else. Award points, redeem rewards, load gift credit, use packages.

Which option should I use?

I can export a list from my current app
Use export / import. Send whatever format you have—Excel, CSV, PDF, a POS report—and we import it for you.
I have a paper punch-card box and a few dozen regulars
Use manual entry as they come in this week. Honor the stamps they already have, then show the recover QR.
Some people are on a list, others just walk in
Send us the list to import, then add walk-ins by hand. Both become the same kind of customer record.
I am not sure my old export is clean

What format does my export need to be?
Whatever your current tool will give you. Excel, CSV, Google Sheets, PDF, or a POS / loyalty-app report all work. Send the file and we import it.
Will points carry over?
Yes, if your export includes a points or stamp balance. We map it when we import. If the file is messy, we will ask before we set balances.
Do customers need to download an app?
No. They add a pass to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Staff scan that QR. See how it works.
Do I have to import the file myself?
No. Email rob@pointscard.app with the export and we handle the import for you.
